Mr. Vedam Jaishankar is a seasoned professional with over three decades experience in media and media-related activities. Sports and the eco-system surrounding it have been the focal point of his multiple endeavours, which include writing, speaking and exploring the definitive impact of personalities and events.
His journalistic career with major newspapers, The Times of India, The New Indian Express, The Indian Express, Deccan Herald, etc has taken him to all the six continents of the world. This sustained exposure to sports, men, infrastructure and innovations has been extremely helpful in his journey.
He launched with great success The Vijay Times for the VRL group. It was later acquired by The Times of India. He also helped launch various other initiatives, including Bangalore Bias and Brijesh Patel Cricket Academy.
Vedam has written three books, the latest being Courage, Conviction, Controversy and Cricket, released in August, 2020. It is drawing rave reviews across the country on multiple media platforms.
His other works include Rahul Dravid-A Biography which has gone into many editions and translations; and Casting A Spell, The Story of Karnataka Cricket, the most definitive book on cricket in Karnataka.
His articles have appeared in numerous reputed publications including Wisden, Sportstar, The Spin, DNA, The Man, Man’s World, etc and in several on-line and web-based sites Swarajya, Sulekha, MSN, Cricwizz, CricketforIndia, etc. He writes regularly for India’s most widely read diverse portal, FirstPost.
This apart, Vedam is an award-winning journalist and often appears on various television channels, Times Now, Republic, Mirror Now, News 9, etc. He also teaches at the National School of Journalism.
