At ISBR Business School, driving academic innovation means engaging with the latest developments at the intersection of technology and global business. In line with this vision, Dr. Premalatha U. M., Professor of Finance, recently represented ISBR at a premier international academic forum.
Dr. Premalatha presented her original research paper at the 8th Pan-IIT International Conference on Financial Markets and Corporate Finance (ICFMCF 2026), hosted by the Department of Management Studies at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) from July 3–5, 2026.
“Artificial Intelligence has the potential to redefine public financial management by enhancing fiscal efficiency, transparency, and evidence-based policymaking while promoting accountable governance.” — Dr. Premalatha U. M.
The Research: AI-Enabled Algorithmic Governance
Dr. Premalatha’s paper, titled “AI-Enabled Algorithmic Governance and Public Finance: Evaluating Its Impact on Fiscal Efficiency, Transparency, and Policy Outcomes,” examines how advanced technology can modernize state-level financial management.
The study highlights the transformative potential of AI-driven tools across critical public finance sectors, including:
- Tax Administration: Optimizing revenue collection and processing through algorithmic models.
- Public Expenditure: Mitigating budget leakages and improving resource distribution.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Transitioning from traditional methods to predictive, evidence-based fiscal policymaking.
The research also addresses the essential ethical considerations and governance frameworks required for the responsible deployment of AI in public institutions.
Global Academic Exchange
The prestigious conference brought together leading researchers, policymakers, and industry experts. Organized in collaboration with multiple premier IITs, the event featured technical oral presentation tracks, cutting-edge workshops on Natural Language Processing (NLP) for finance, and keynote sessions from globally renowned scholars representing NYU Stern, UCLA, and Imperial College London.
Participation in this elite forum provided an excellent platform for scholarly feedback, directly supporting ISBR’s continuous commitment to institutional research excellence, faculty development, and an enriched finance curriculum.
