Beyond the Classroom: ISBR College Freshers Explore Heritage and Culture in ‘Bangalore Round Trip 2026’

Bridging academic routines with real-world exposure, ISBR College organized the Bangalore Round Trip 2026 on August 8, 2026, welcoming over 150 incoming undergraduate and law students from the 2026 batch.

Coordinated by faculty members from the Department of UG courses, the day-long excursion offered freshers an opportunity to build peer connections, engage with civic history, and explore non-profit management models across Bengaluru.

Key Highlights of the Day

Departing from the ISBR Engineering College Campus in Electronic City across three buses, the cohort embarked on an itinerary covering green spaces, governance centers, and cultural landmarks:

  • Cubbon Park & Vidhana Soudha: Students explored the historic Cubbon Park, observing local bird species and squirrels while learning about urban planning, civic spaces, and heritage architecture before viewing the nearby Vidhana Soudha.
  • ISKCON Temple (Kanakapura Road): The visit provided firsthand exposure to traditional rituals, modern architectural design, and global social outreach programs like the Akshaya Patra Foundation’s midday meal initiatives.
  • Art of Living International Center: Following lunch at Sri Krishna Dwaraka Hotel, students visited the meditation center to gain insights into spiritual self-reflection and evaluate volunteer-based non-profit management structures on a global scale.

Experiential Outcomes for Freshers

The excursion served as an immersive orientation experience, yielding significant learning outcomes for the new cohort:

  • Teamwork and Life Skills: Navigating new settings fostered communication, adaptability, and independence among students.
  • Management Case Studies: Analyzing institutions like ISKCON and the Art of Living offered practical business administration perspectives on non-profit operations and community engagement.
  • Cultural Awareness: Direct exposure to diverse architectural, religious, and civic landmarks broadened students’ perspectives on Bangalore’s heritage.
