The Abhinandana 2026 Power Star Award proudly honours Dr. Sangeeta Katti, an acclaimed Classical Vocalist and Music Composer, for her outstanding contribution to Indian classical music and her unwavering commitment to preserving the rich traditions of the Guru-Shishya Parampara.
For decades, Dr. Katti has inspired audiences through her soulful performances, dedication to musical excellence, and passion for nurturing the next generation of artists. Her journey reflects not only artistic brilliance but also humility, discipline, and lifelong learning.
In her address, she beautifully connected the event’s theme of Pancha Sheela and Sapta Varna with the essence of music, noting how the seven musical notes, seven colours, seven sacred rivers, and seven chakras together symbolise harmony and completeness in life.
Music as a Lifelong Sadhana

Reflecting on her five-decade-long musical journey, Dr. Katti emphasised that there is no shortcut to Sadhana. She encouraged young musicians to remain committed to consistent practice, patience, and devotion, believing that sincere effort is always rewarded with the blessings of the divine and the guidance of great teachers.
She fondly remembered the invaluable lessons imparted by her revered gurus, including the belief that the very first musical note, “Sa,” represents the Supreme Being, inspiring artists to seek divinity in every note they sing.
Marking the completion of 50 years in music, she reflected that every milestone is only the beginning of a deeper journey of learning and self-discovery.
