Swachhata Abhiyaan 2025: Inspiring Youth for a Cleaner India

Swachhata Abhiyaan 2025 at ISBR Business School marked a powerful movement that blended cleanliness, social responsibility, and sustainability. ISBR Cares, the institution’s sustainability wing, takes the initiative to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti (October 2)—a day celebrating Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of Swachh Bharat (Clean India)—with youth-led campaigns that go beyond physical cleanliness to nurture ethical and moral purity.

This initiative aligned with the nationwide Clean India Drive and the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, echoing Gandhi’s timeless principle: “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.”

The Spirit of Gandhi Jayanti and Swachh Bharat Diwas

Every October 2, India honors Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, which is also observed globally as the International Day of Non-Violence. The Swachh Bharat Mission, launched on this day in 2014, became a nationwide call for collective cleanliness and civic responsibility—symbolizing the country’s tribute to the Father of the Nation.

In 2025, the Ministry of Education and AICTE urged educational institutions to participate in Swachhata Pakhwada (1–15 September), marking the 10th year of this noble mission. Colleges and universities were encouraged to organize cleanliness drives, awareness rallies, tree plantations, and creative student competitions to promote sustainability, hygiene, and civic awareness.

ISBR Cares: Cultivating Clean Minds and Sustainable Hearts

At ISBR, the campaign extended beyond mere campus cleanliness. Through ISBR Cares, the institute aims to develop socially responsible citizens who embody both Swabhaav Swachaata (cleanliness of mind) and Sanskaar Swachaata (cleanliness of values).

Recognizing that family and schools often miss shaping young minds in today’s fast-paced world, colleges like ISBR step forward as the final nurturing ground. As future managers and leaders, students are encouraged to practice sustainability and empathy—qualities essential for responsible corporate leadership.

From Waste to Wealth: Street Plays That Sparked Change

Swachhata Abhiyaan 2025 spanned from September 15 to October 31, featuring a host of impactful activities, culminating in a vibrant street play competition on pressing social themes.

One of the standout performances, “From Waste to Wealth: Street Plays That Sparked Change,” tackled the social evil of dowry deaths, inspired by recent incidents in Noida. Students dramatized the issue through emotionally charged performances that blended art, activism, and awareness.

“We didn’t just perform—we sparked conversations. A huge thanks to our mentors, Ms. Aruna Newton (VP – Infosys) and Prof. Shiva Prakash, for their unwavering guidance.”

shared by the winners of the street play competition.

Complementing the Swachhata campaign, ISBR Business School also hosted an inspiring guest lecture by Ms. Shabinaa Sultana, a diplomat and entrepreneur, who spoke on diplomacy, entrepreneurship, and global collaboration.

Building Socially Responsible Citizens for Tomorrow

The Swachhata Abhiyaan 2025 at ISBR Business School wasn’t just an event—it was a movement of mindful transformation. By merging Gandhian philosophy with youth activism and sustainability education, ISBR demonstrated that true cleanliness encompasses both the environment and the spirit. As part of ISBR Cares, the institution continues its mission of nurturing ethical, empathetic, and environmentally conscious leaders, ready to build a cleaner, kinder, and more sustainable India.

Through Swachhata Abhiyaan 2025, ISBR reaffirmed its commitment to the Clean India Mission and Gandhian ideals of non-violence, discipline, and purity. The campaign not only beautified spaces but also enlightened minds, making cleanliness a way of life, not just an act of duty.

Indeed, cleanliness begins with us—and so does change.
