In line with this commitment, the college recently organized two highly informative special lectures in September 2019, designed to enhance students’ legal drafting and advocacy skills.
Drafting of Writ Petition and Filing of Objections
On September 13th, 2019, ISBR Law College hosted a special lecture on the crucial topic of “Drafting of Writ Petition and Filing of Objections.” The session was led by Mr. Girish Patil, a distinguished Advocate from the High Court of Karnataka.
Mr. Patil’s expertise provided students with invaluable insights into the intricacies of drafting writ petitions, a fundamental aspect of public law litigation. He also delved into the process of filing objections, equipping aspiring legal professionals with practical knowledge essential for their future careers.
Preparing Memorials for Moot Court
Following this, on September 16th, 2019, ISBR Law College arranged another special lecture, this time focused on training students for Moot Court competitions. The session, titled “Preparing Memorials for Moot Court,” was delivered by Ms. Keerthi Dubey, a 5th-year BA LLB final-year student from Alliance University.
Ms. Dubey, with her practical experience in mooting, shared valuable strategies and techniques for preparing effective memorials, which are written arguments presented to a court. Her insights are particularly beneficial for students aiming to excel in moot court competitions, which are a cornerstone of legal education, simulating real court proceedings.
In recognition of her contribution, Ms. Keerthi Dubey was presented with a memento and a letter of appreciation by Dr. Balavanth Kalaskar, Principal of ISBR Law College.
