ISBR Law College Societies: The Launchpad for Professional Legal Skills and Leadership

On 22nd September 2025, ISBR Law College hosted its highly anticipated “The Official Societies Introduction Programme” at the Seminar Hall. This foundational event was conducted to formally introduce the student-led committees that are integral to academic enrichment, professional training, and community building at the college.

The collaborative programme brought together faculty, alumni, and students to celebrate leadership and institutional culture. The main objectives were to formally introduce the official committees , highlight their vision and functioning , and inspire students toward co-curricular engagement.

Proceedings and Dignitary Insights

The event commenced with addresses from key dignitaries:

  • Dr. Tapan Nayak (Director) delivered motivating insights on the importance of student initiatives and committee-driven learning.
  • Dr. Balavanth Kalaskar (Principal) emphasized the value of holistic education and student empowerment.
  • Mr. Lokesh Reddy (HOD & Societies Chairman) underlined the vital role of these committees in shaping professional growth.

A highlight of the programme was the alumni address by Mr. Soumyaneel Das, a seasoned MUN professional and founding president of Vox Populi, who shared his journey in debate, advocacy, and global legal platforms to inspire current students.

The Four Pillars of Co-Curricular Excellence

The central part of the event was the official introduction of the four key societies, each designed to develop a specific set of legal competencies:

  1. Vox Populi (Debating & MUN Society): Focused on fostering debating, diplomacy, and public speaking.
  2. Moot Court Committee (MCC): Dedicated to enhancing research, advocacy, and trial skills.
  3. Lex Scripta (Literary Society): Encourages legal writing, research, and creative expression.
  4. ADR Cell (Arbitration & Mediation Cell): Promotes dispute resolution skills through mediation, arbitration, and negotiation.

The introduction programme successfully reinforced the value of student-led initiatives within a legal education framework.

The main outcomes included:
