Behind the Scenes: ISBR College Students Explore Kempegowda International Airport

Bengaluru, India – On April 4th, 2019, students from ISBR College embarked on an insightful industrial visit to Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the airport’s backend operations and overall functioning.

The students were guided by Operations Executive Mr. Suresh and his team, who offered valuable explanations throughout the tour. Key areas of focus included:

  • Check-in and Baggage Restrictions: Students gained a better understanding of the check-in procedures and the various restrictions associated with baggage.
  • Security Check-in Area: Mr. Suresh provided detailed explanations about restricted items not allowed in cabin bags, ensuring students understood the crucial aspects of airport security.
  • Automated Security System: A significant highlight was the demonstration of the new automated security check-in system, a cutting-edge technology designed to save time for passengers. Students learned that the entire check-in process was moving towards full automation in the coming months.
  • Departure Area Insights: The visit concluded in the departure area, where concepts such as the “black box” and Air Traffic Control (ATC) were explained, offering foundational knowledge about flight operations.
