August to December 2019: A Semester of Dynamic Law Activities at ISBR Law College

Bengaluru, India – ISBR Law College, a hub for aspiring legal professionals, experienced a bustling semester from August to December 2019, packed with diverse activities designed to enrich the student experience and foster holistic development. Here’s a look at some of the key events:

Inaugurations and Orientations

  • Law Program Inauguration 2019-2020 (July 20, 2019): A grand event marked the beginning of the academic year for all undergraduate law programs. The ceremony included an invocation song, welcome speech by Principal Dr. Balavanth Kalaskar, lamp lighting, and the release of the academic calendar by MD Mr. Manish Kothari and other dignitaries. Four students were recognized with Best Student Achievement awards. Esteemed Chief Guest Mr. M.K. Srivastava IPS (Retd.), Former DGP, Karnataka, along with Dr. B.R. Ramakrishna (Vice-Chancellor, S-VAYASA), Dr. B.K. Ravindra (Former Vice-Chancellor, Alliance University), and Mr. Nishant Toshniwal (National Key Accounts Lead, ZOMATO), delivered inspiring talks. The event was extensively covered on social media, including live broadcasts on Facebook and Twitter, ensuring wide interaction.
  • Orientation Program (July 20th & 21st, 2019): A highly successful orientation program was conducted by Ms. Neha Mathur and Ms. Ami Dosi, Life Skills Trainers, on the second day of the program, helping new students settle into college life.

Patriotism and National Spirit

  • Independence Day (August 15, 2019): ISBR Law College celebrated India’s 73rd Independence Day with patriotic fervor. Principal Dr. Balavanth Kalaskar addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of the day. Students from all semesters delivered speeches on patriotism, followed by songs and dance performances. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Komala, a faculty member.

Career Guidance and Skill Development

  • Special Talk on “Career in Defence” (August 23, 2019): Students attended an insightful special talk on “Career in Defence” by Major R.D. Bhargava. Major Bhargava, an alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru University and the Indian Military Academy, shared his extensive experience from over 21 years in the Indian Army, including his role as “Deputy Director” in the NCC Directorate, Karnataka & Goa.
  • Debate Competition: “Speak for India” (August 26, 2019): ISBR students participated in the “Speak for India” Karnataka Edition 2019 Debate competition at Christ University, Bangalore. This initiative by Federal Bank in association with The Times of India Group aims to encourage young minds to voice their perspectives on contemporary issues, serving as change-makers in society. The event provided a platform for college students to explore their awareness and insights.

Appreciating Educators

  • Teachers’ Day (September 5, 2019): ISBR College celebrated Teachers’ Day as a token of gratitude for the dedicated teachers who tirelessly work to bring out the best in their students.
