In the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi\u2019s ideology, ISBR Business School enthusiastically joined the nation in celebrating the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan<\/em> from September 30 to October 4, 2024. This year, under the theme set by the Government of India \u2013 Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskaar Swachhata<\/em> (\u0938\u094d\u0935\u092d\u093e\u0935 \u0938\u094d\u0935\u091a\u094d\u091b\u0924\u093e – \u0938\u0902\u0938\u094d\u0915\u093e\u0930 \u0938\u094d\u0935\u091a\u094d\u091b\u0924\u093e) \u2013 the focus was on not just external cleanliness but also internal transformation. The theme highlighted that true cleanliness begins with the individual, urging us to cleanse our thoughts, behaviors, and values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At ISBR, we extended this message beyond its core by addressing another critical issue: Women\u2019s Safety<\/strong>. Recognizing the disturbing rise in atrocities against women, we decided to emphasize the importance of instilling sound morals and values in our youth, nurturing responsible citizens for the future. With over 1,000 students from diverse backgrounds, ISBR felt a deep responsibility to shape not only their academic paths but also their character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Week of Awareness and Action<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The program spanned across a full week, from September 30 to October 4, with a series of impactful events and inter-class competitions designed to engage students and create a lasting change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 1: SAY NO TO PLASTICS & NO FOOD WASTE<\/strong>
<\/strong>On Monday, September 30, the campus came alive with vibrant posters spreading awareness about the dangers of Single-Use Plastics (SUP) and food wastage. In line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 19), our students took up the call to action, pledging to reduce plastic use and eliminate food waste. It was more than just a campaign; it was a clarion call to embrace sustainability in our daily lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 2: Clean Campus Drive<\/strong>
<\/strong>On Tuesday, October 1, students took charge of a massive Clean Campus Drive. Armed with brooms, gloves, and determination, they worked together to ensure that every corner of the campus was spotless. It was an activity that not only cleaned the physical space but also fostered a sense of unity and responsibility among the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 3: Street Cleaning on Gandhi Jayanti<\/strong>
<\/strong>Although October 2 was a national holiday, staff and students showed their commitment by stepping out into the streets, armed with cleaning equipment to clean public spaces. They sent photos of their efforts as proof that Gandhi\u2019s dream of a clean India was still alive in their hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 4: Art from Waste Competition<\/strong>
<\/strong>On Thursday, October 3, the campus buzzed with creativity as students participated in an \u201cArt from Waste\u201d competition. The event showcased their innovative spirit, turning discarded materials into beautiful, functional pieces of art. It was a reminder that waste, when viewed through the right lens, could be transformed into something valuable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 5: Skit on Women\u2019s Safety and Prize Distribution<\/strong>
<\/strong>The grand finale took place on Friday, October 4, with a series of thought-provoking skits on Women\u2019s Safety. These performances, presented by the students, tackled difficult topics such as molestation, sexual harassment at work, and eve-teasing in a male-dominated society. The powerful narratives brought home the importance of values and respect for women in everyday life. The Chief Guest for the event was Ms. Sheril Christopher, EHS Head at 3M India, with over two decades of experience in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). Alongside her, Senior Faculties and our students shared their insights, emphasizing the need for awareness and action among the youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The week-long Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan<\/em> at ISBR was not just about physical cleanliness; it was about changing mindsets, embracing responsibility, and fostering a culture of respect and values. It was a powerful reminder that change begins with us, and that through collective effort, we can make a difference. For those present, the experience was transformative, and for those who missed it\u2014students and faculty alike\u2014it was indeed a lost opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was a testament to the commitment of ISBR Business School to creating socially responsible citizens who are prepared to lead with integrity and compassion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
