S. Narasimha Prasad, former banker and expert<\/strong><\/em> in insolvency.<br>Mr. Raghavendra Rao is a skilled banker with more than 32 years of expertise in a variety of banking areas. He has experience working for modern private banks like ICICI, IndusInd, and Fincare Small Finance. He is currently Ninjacart&#8217;s Head of Compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Aim: <\/strong>To understand the basics of banking space and to get a strong knowledge about it<br>along with the latest technologies used in banks nowadays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A brief introduction to banks and their primary function preceded the event. He talked about several banks and how they are categorised in India. He provided some insightful information about the impact of credit appraisal and policy on banking operations. The topic of how supply chain finance benefits banks and their clients was the subject of a fruitful discussion. The viewpoint of the banks was emphasised more in this context. He concluded by discussing remittances and banking technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He talked about the recent changes in technology trends in the banking industry. The impact of new technologies on banking operations was discussed by Mr. Raghavendra Rao.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Learnings from the event: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The students from non-commerce background got detailed knowledge on the basics of banks and their working in India. Banking sector plays a vital role in the economy of the country and this session helped us understand the nitty gritty of it. And the importance of technology in the banking sector and the evolution of fintech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Feedback from students: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The resource person talked about the very basics of the banking sector in India. This was really helpful in understanding the banking ecosystem. This session has helped us a lot in terms of understanding the basic concepts of the banking sector.
