An optimistic impression created about anything stays in the mind for a long time giving us a feeling of belongingness. This was the impression that the new students of the 2-year PGDM program<\/a> (2018-2020) had in the inauguration ceremony at ISBR Business School, Bengaluru.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. J. Alexander, Former Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer and Chief Secretary (Retired), Former MLA & Minister, Karnataka. The Guest of Honour for the event was Mr. Pradeep Srivastava, Country Manager of Ascent Staffing Solution.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inauguration Ceremony PGDM (2018-2020)<\/h2>\n

The inauguration ceremony of the PGDM (2 year) Program 2018-2020 kicked off with a group photo in the presence of our eminent guests, Mr. Manish Kothari – Managing Director, ISBR and the esteemed faculty of ISBR along with students.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0photo session was followed by a mesmerising devotional song by ISBR student Bodhayan in the auditorium.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was followed by lighting the lamp by the respected dignitaries on the dais. ISBR Business School believes in following our traditional values and this is the primary reason that all our events begin with lighting the lamp by the dignitaries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our Master of Ceremonies (MC\u2019s) Shubham and Indrakshita did a tremendous job by introducing the guests of honor and thanking the guests for their speech throughout the event in a very commendable manner.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chief Guests for Inauguration of the Two Year PGDM<\/h2>\n

The auditorium was filled with a sense of mind blowing wisdom and valuable insights by thought provoking speeches of the Chief Guest Dr. J.Alexander, guest of honor Mr. Pradeep Srivastava and the founder of ISBR, Sri Manish Kothari.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Senior Director of ISBR, Dr. K. S Anandaram welcomed the students of the two-year PGDM<\/a> by sharing his opinion that management education is better understood and better perceived by the working executives. He congratulated the students for their decision to pursue management education<\/a> after having a corporate exposure. This was followed by the speech of our chief guest\u00a0Dr. J.Alexander.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Chief Guest\u00a0Dr. J.Alexander set the perfect stage for the audience with his charismatic speech. From being an Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer in 1963 to becoming a politician post retirement to pursuing a Ph.D at the age of 80, the audience in the auditorium could not have asked for a better guest for this event.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Alexander stressed upon the significance of dreaming and following it up with a striking passion by sharing his personal stories of interaction with renowned industrialist Narayana Murthy (Founder of Infosys) and the Superstar Rajnikanth.\u00a0 The audience as well as the prominent dignitaries on the dais were spellbound by listening to these two stories.<\/span><\/p>\n

Truly, it was a blessing in disguise for all of us present there. He also emphasized that pursuing\u00a0<\/span>management is the best of both worlds when there is a perfect balance between practicing management as a science and practicing management as an art<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cA poor manager fails, an average manager survives, a good manager leads and a great manager inspires.\u201d\u00a0 .<\/i><\/b>\u00a0These were the words of wisdom for the management students present there by\u00a0Dr. J.Alexander.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The next address was by the Guest of Honour, Mr.Pradeep Srivastava,\u00a0Country Manager, ASCENT HR. It was enthralling for the people in the auditorium to listen to\u00a0Mr.Pradeep Srivastava as he shared his soul stirring story of his dream to play cricket for India at the tender age of 18 and his sudden change of dreams because of the death of his father.<\/span><\/p>\n

He took it as an inspiration to work with people and helping people build their careers. It was this passion that let him to pursue Human Resource (HR) as his career.\u00a0He also emphasized the need to follow our passions backed by strong competencies. He exemplified that management students need to be all-rounders as management is a multi-tasking job. It was amazing to listen to his words of wisdom.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was followed by observations on the talks by Dr.C.Manohar, Dean of ISBR Business School. He welcomed the students of the PGDM<\/a> batch and wished them good luck to pursue their management careers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Manish Kothari Speech on the Topic “Ikigai”<\/h2>\n

In his presidential address, Mr. Manish Kothari\u00a0welcomed the students of the PGDM batch by his awe-inspiring speech on the topic\u00a0<\/span>\u2018Ikigai\u2019\u00a0<\/i><\/b>and told that the audience were blessed to have the two eminent speakers as the guests of honour.<\/span>\u00a0\u201c<\/i><\/b>Ikigai\u00a0is a Japanese word whose\u00a0meaning\u00a0translates roughly to a reason for being, encompassing joy, a sense of purpose and\u00a0meaning\u00a0and a feeling of well-being\u201d.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Mr. Manish Kothari encouraged the students to make the best use of these two years by maintaining work-life-education balance. He also encouraged the students to think creatively and have a never-give-up attitude to attain success in their lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Vote of Thanks was given by Mr. G.R. Nair, Head Admissions.\u00a0He\u00a0quoted, \u201c<\/span>Eagle is the only bird that has the attitude of flying above the clouds when it is raining while the rest of the birds take shelter.<\/i><\/b>\u201d This proverb given by Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam set the tone for the PGDM students to have an attitude of an eagle in their corporate lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the world of Management, <\/span>\u201cAttitude is Everything<\/i><\/b>\u201c.<\/span><\/p>\n

All the dignitaries also stressed upon the importance of continual learning and that keeping our minds young always helps us in building our management career to greater heights<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSuccess comes to those who chase their passions passionately\u201d\u00a0<\/b>was the Mantra of the Inaugural Ceremony for the PGDM<\/a> students.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ceremony ended by singing the national anthem which was followed by lunch.<\/span><\/p>\n
