E-Week ’09 @ ISBR (Green Wash)
In the very first year of its inception , innocentive, the e-cell@ISBR brought home the Roll of Honor; a no mean achievement keeping in mind the scale of National Entrepreneurship Network’ E-Week event and the amount of participation it attracts. But becoming one of the six champions amongst as large a contingent as 400 colleges, in the very second year is just a fantastic feeling. 360 activities conducted during the week, which involved the participation of ISBRians, School Students, and guests from the corporate like Infosys, Wipro, Redbus, Tastebuds and the renowned personalities like Padmabhushan Prof. N. S. Ramaswamy, thus increasing the stature of the event. more info...
The dedicated team of Innocentive did not leave any stone unturned to make it a grand success. The theme chosen by NEN for this year’s E-Week was Go- Green which was renamed as Green Wash at ISBR to add a touch of exclusiveness. With Global Warming, Global Dimming, Carbon trading, Carbon foot printing becoming the topics of the discussions at all the national and international events of repute, it was very well thought of an apt theme for an all important event like NEN E-Week. This was a platform where not only the dangers and subsequent consequences were discussed but the young minds came up with some viable and practical solutions for these life threatening phenomena.
Out of the total of 360 activities, 100 were theme based and rest was entrepreneurial and fun activities. Green Wash anthem by a fellow ISBRian, environment friendly parking plans and warehouse, environment friendly vehicle designing, remodeling the anti-environment product features as environment friendly ones , green peace rally, CNG auto rally, mobile movie making etc; got selected as national level events by NEN. No doubt the week was primarily about, spreading the awareness among one and all, about the dangers our planet is facing due to our callous and irresponsible behavior and finding viable solutions to them. But innocentive team assured that all involved have fun also with some serious learning.
Winning the champions trophy was not all we got from E-Week but also preparing for it and then conducting it made all of us more responsible and aware citizens. It added all important attributes to our characters, like team spirit, remaining patient in adversity, being humble, managing within scarce resources and respecting the deadlines. And this is the importance of winning; it is not what we get from it but what we become because of it. collapse...

Blood Donation Camp
“Service to mankind is service to God”. This is the Achieving Manthra for “SAMARPAN”- Corporate Social Responsibility Club of ISBR.Give Blood and Save Life. Donating blood is one of the major deeds done by people across the globe. When a person is suffering for his/her life directly or indirectly we are helping in bringing them back to life. In short people who are donating blood are giving second life to the needy persons. They are the noblest people in the world. There are no words to explain about the deed which they do. more info...
Before the event the coordinators of the club with the other members made a good promotional strategy. They went and invited many colleges and educational institutes and they were able to get a good response from them. We got a positive feel from the Corporate side and we had a effective participation from their end also. They even made sure that people who are insecure of giving their blood had a counseling session, telling the importance of this service and also enlightened them stating a scientific fact that their body will be refilled with fresh blood within 24 hours after they give. This made many students to initiate and give blood.
This Blood Donation program was been coordinated by Ms. Krithika and Mr. Rohan Jaiswal, the coordinators along with other CSR members of ISBR. Ms. Darshika Modi Shangani was the faculty Coordinator for this event and the team also got the major support from our Director Prof. Amit Gupta. With his support the event happened inside the college campus. There were about 150 registrations and total blood bags collected were 94 which is the most tipping achievement. This camp happened on 25th September 2009 in ISBR First Floor Auditorium. This Blood Donation Camp was done in association with ELCIA and Rotary Club of Bangalore. Doctors from Manipal Hospital were called. We had two doctors and ten technicians. The event started at 10.00 AM and was ended at 4.00 PM. Before the blood was taken from the participants few criteria’s were been checked by the doctors. Some of the Premedical Check-up includes Weight, Blood Pressure, Hemoglobin level. The candidates were not allowed to give their blood if they were lacking in any of the above mentioned criteria. The CSR team was providing energy to every participant and they were able to create a mark in the minds of the corporate people.
This noble event was successful due to the effective backing up support from the great pillars like Ms. Lata Amashi who is the Rotary Blood Bank Head, Mr.Prakash Rao, CEO of ELCIA with Mr. Nakeeran who is the Administrative Manager of ELCIA. Without these prominent members support this event wouldn’t have been a successful event. ISBR is in the edge not only in the Value added and Academics but also in Corporate Social Responsibility.
