“Rome was not built in a day”…….This very line suggests that any great empire or for that sake an organization or institution can’t be formed in a day. Years of hard work and dedication goes behind the rise of a successful organization. ISBR is also one such institute with a glorious past and a shining future. To commemorate and celebrate its journey, the institute celebrates its Founders Day every year.

On 7th September, 2016 International School of Business and Research celebrated their “ISBR DAY”. ISBR was established on this very day by Mr. Prakash Kothari, Chairman- ISBR and Mr. Manish Kothari, Managing Director- ISBR thus having a significant and special place in the hearts of each and every ISBRian. Interestingly 7th September also happens to be the birthday of Mr. Prakash Kothari which makes the day even more special.

The college organized a cultural carnival from 1st September to 6th September and the entire week was very much alive with various talent showcases in dancing, singing, skits, food without fire, etc.

On 7th September, 2016, ISBR day started with the hosts welcoming all the dignified guests of honour. Sri Amarnath Patil(MLC), Sri MD Lakshminarayana, Smt. Sathya Prabha(MLA & Chairman,Vydehi Medical Institute & Research), Sri K C Ramamurthy(MP, Rajya Sabha), Dr. Vishweshwar Bhat and Dr. B N Gangadhar graced the occasion on this special day of ISBR.

The warm welcome followed by an invocation dance performance by students of the MBA batch. Students time and again have always showcased their potential making everyone amazed but this time it was a little different. A song was written by a faculty member of ISBR and it was sung by the students which made the evening even more beautiful and memorable.

Another highlight of the evening was the awards ceremony for the final year students based on their academic, cultural and sports performances which keeps the students motivated to excel more and more not just in their academics but also in other fields.

The amount of efforts put by each and every student from MBA and PGDM batches in their performances was clearly visible. The evening came to an end with a fashion show which was themed as formal, ethnic, wedding and western. Students as models walked the ramp with confidence and passion in their glittering eyes. The show was applauded and loved by everyone.

It became a memorable day in the history of ISBR and it was a great honor for every ISBRian to be a part of this ceremony and now everyone eagerly waits for the ISBR DAY 2017.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Panel Discussion on GST Bill

On 20th August 2016, ISBR organized a panel discussion on Goods and Services Tax (GST). The panel was graced by the industry experts and academician, Mr. Naveen Raj Purohit, Mr. Sriramprasad and Prof. Kiran Bindu.

The session was attended by all the PGDM and MBA students of 2016-18 batch. The faculty members including Dr. Chandra Niranjan, Dean-Academics were also present during the entire panel discussion.

The discussion started with the focus on how the GST would bring social and economic reforms in the Indian economy. They analyzed the various aspects and implications of GST.

The session continued with the panel speakers sharing their knowledge on GST. They informed students about how the GST will replace all indirect taxes levied on goods and services by the Central and State Governments in India.

Students took great interest and put questions during the Q & A round which were welcomed and answered by the panel. Replying to one such question, the panel further discussed the difference between the current Income Tax and the GST.

It was a great informative session for students as they usher in their professional journey.

Orientation Workshop-‘Create a Story’

Orientation WorkshopISBR Business School conducted an Orientation Workshop ‘ Create a Story’ on 10th August 2016 from 9am to 4pm at Amphitheatre for PGDM / MBA students.

Students were distributed in the groups of 10 each. Each group was given a story and the same was required to be presented through paper cups, giving a visual 3D treat. Simultaneously, groups were required to create a presentation, based on the accorded story.

The workshop was conducted in order to ignite the managerial skills among students through creativity, teamwork, resource management, time management and effective use of intellect. Students also learnt to respect the ideas of others.

The workshop ended with a game with a moral- Together Everyone Achieves More.

ISBR College recently welcomed the first batch of UG Course students for the academic year 2016-2019 on July 27th, 2016. Inaugural Ceremony was initiated with lighting of Ceremonial Lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. Mr. Manish Kothari, Founder & Managing Director ISBR, Dr. Anandaram, Sr. Director, Dr. Chandra Niranjan, Dean Academics and Mr.Ajith Kaykeni, Founder of Buoyance Training & Consulting firm graced the occassion. The new batch of the students was accompanied by their parents who were excited and happy to see their children entering a new phase of life.

 A warm welcome address was delivered by Dr.Anandaram, Sr. Director a visionary with rich experience in the field of academics and industry, to the august gathering. He shared the unique features of the Academic program and spoke about life-long learning and development as well as developing leadership skills.

Dr. Chandra Niranjan, Dean-Academics, shared few insights of our BBA course work. She made audience aware about the significance theoretical knowledge blended with industrial exposure.

In his presidential speech, Mr. Manish Kothari Founder & Managing Director ISBR, wished all the success to the new team and urged all the students to actively take part in co-curricular and extracurricular activities. He guided the aspirants saying, ‘Human creativity has increasingly become a group process.’

 Release of Academic calendar:

The UG Batch 2016-19 was inaugurated and the academic calendar was released with great enthusiasm and zeal.

Felicitation of Faculty:

The academic pillars of BBA program were introduced i.e. regular and the expert faculties. Dr. Anandram felicitated the faculty with a bouquet and memento.

The ceremony ended up on a very happy note with all the good wishes of the Chairman, faculty, and others. The students were very eager to participate in the upcoming events and are looking forward for the next session!

 

 

PGDM 2016 Batch Inauguration

PGDM Inauguration

ISBR Business School welcomed its PGDM 2016 batch students and their parents on 30th July, 2016 at Electronic City, Bangalore Campus.

The function was presided over by renowned personalities from the corporate and industrial sectors along with dignitaries from the management and staff. Mr Ravi Raghavan, Chairman Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) was the Chief Guest for the day. The stage was graced with the presence of delegates Mr Keyur J Shah, Director, Price Waterhouse Coopers(PWC), Mr Nealesh Dalal, Managing Trustee, J D Institute of Fashion Technology, Dr. Sudarsanam Padam, former Dean Administrative Staff College of India, Mr Raghunandan, Vice President, ELCIA, Mr. Vijay kumar, Vice President WIPRO and alumnus, Mr  Nitin Jain, Goel Group of Industries.

The function started by invoking the blessings of Lord Almighty. The dignitaries enlightened the minds of all by lighting the lamp and spreading the rays of hope.

In his welcome address, Dr. Anandaram gave a brief introduction about the PGDM program and the concept of wholesome development of students.

The chief guest Mr Ravi Raghavan, inaugurated the batch and declared the new session open. He described the four Ps of success being, Passion, Purpose, Perseverance and Patience.

Mr Keyur J Shah, Guest of honor, released the academic planner and addressed the gathering stating his personal experiences and stories of sports personalities to make students realize that there is no substitute for hard work.

The academic diary was released by Dr. Sudarsanam Padam who inspired the students to look beyond the syllabus and become the best citizens of the country.

The flag of camarederie was handed over to the representatives of the batch by the alumnus Mr. Nitin Jain.

The guest of honor, Mr Raghunandan encouraged the students to never stop learning. Also Mr Nealesh Dalal asked students to be honest by stating, “ if you want to be successful , do not lie to yourself”. 

The star invitees of the function Mr Rajesh Reddy, Kirloskar Electrical and Mr Nithin John, Spice Jet were felicitated by Mr Manish Kothari, who in his presidential address gave assurance to the parents that the students of ISBR will never be detached from the string of culture, family and friends. He also explained the concept and power of right mentorship through a beautiful video.

The faculty members were introduced to the gathering by Dr Chandra Niranjan, Dean Academics who concluded with an inspiring quote,” Fight your own battlse and fry your own fish”.

Towards the end, the vote of thanks, on behalf of the Institution, was proposed by Mr. Abbas Ali, Head Placement.

 

Visit to The Akshayapatra by ISBR students

Visit to Akshaya Patra

ISBR MBA Students of 2016-18 batch were taken to visit   Akshayapatra Foundation at ISCON Temple on 25th of July, 2016.

“ Unlimited food for education” is the idea behind the Akshay Patra. Akshayapatra Foundation is serving 90,000 kids all over Karnataka studying in govt. schools with Mid Day Meal, thus ensuring the better health and inspiring the kids towards a better future of the Nation.

Students visited the Akshayapatra Foundation’s food factory using all protective measures. They covered their heads and wore protective footwear to maintain hygiene. To the Knowledge of Students, they came to know how 12000 litres of sambhar and 6 tons of rice is prepared daily to serve 90,000 students of Karnataka govt. schools, along with the sterilisation of vessels containing food, delivery process, and completion of the work daily by 09:30 am to start the distribution of food to all govt. registered schools. As per saying of M. Gandhi, “Do as you want others to do unto you”, students not only visited the factory and learnt about its functioning, but also had the same food for lunch.

Being students themselves, and being the future rulers, MBA Students of ISBR witnessed a process that builds kid’s heath, increase school attendance/ enrolement and thus shape them towards a better future.

In short, a visit to Akshayapatra introduced to the beginning of learning for these going to be leaders.

A visit to Enable India

ISBR’s MBA 2016 students visited Enable India, a charitable trust who works toward empowering people with disability, on 21 July 2016.

Dr Sujata and Mr Vishnu gave an introductory talk about “Enable India”. After that students were taken to the training area where they saw disabled people getting trained for better opportunities. While explaining the functioning of Enable India, Dr Sujata told students about how they analyze the job opportunities and find a solution to the problems faced by these special people so that they work with ease even after being different from us.

Mr Vishnu, an engineer took students to the virtual tour of history of Enable India and the awards won by its founder Mrs Shanti Raghvan and Mr Dipesh Sutariya and their struggle during the initial days. Students also learnt sign language to communicate with these people.

Mr Dipesh, the co founder also spoke to students about his journey. He even answered student’s queries and encouraged them.

It was a huge motivational tour for students in nut shell.

Visit to Art Of Living Ashram, Bangalore

Art Of Living Ashram visit On 21st July 2016, ISBR’s MBA students(2016- 18) visited Art Of Living (AOL) Ashram at Bangalore, founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar as part of their orientation program. Students were first escorted to Vishalakshi Mandal where they were told how focus and relaxation are interlinked. Ms Upasana, an instructor from AOL involved students in various activities as well as guided students for yoga and meditation. She asked students to take a step towards healthy living to energize life force energy.

Students received Prasad ( satvik lunch) at Annapoorna Bhojanalaya, where employees as well as visitors have lunch together. The good thing was that students and everyone cleaned their own plates.

In afternoon, at Panchakarma, students got to know about farming and its importance as well as the disadvantages of using plastics. They also visited Goshala with 375 cows and 50 bulls.

At the end, Students were also taken to Sri Sri Science Ayurvedic Hospital founded in the memory of Guruji’s father Sri Rathanam where treatment is done at nominal cost.

Its been a great learning experience for students as they look forward to start their professional journey.

MBA 2016 Batch Inauguration on 16 July 2016

ISBR Business School welcomed its MBA 2016 batch students and their parents on 16 july 2016 at Electronic City, Bangalore campus. Sri Kishore Alva, Vice President, Bangalore Chamber of Industry & Commerce and Joint President, ADANI Group graced the occasion as chief guest. Guests of Honour were Sri. Naveen Raju, Hon. Consul for Cote D’Ivoire, West Africa and Sri Prashanth Sreenivasan, Global Competency Head, Tech Mahindra. The other guests included Sri. Bhawesh, Joint Secretary, ELCIA, Smt. Suja Warrier, a social leader, Infosys and ISBR’s  alumni Mr.Kanhaialal Sharma, HR, Genpact.

Chief Guest, Sri Kishore Alva inaugurated the MBA Batch 2016-18 and declared the new session open. Guest of Honor, Sri.Naveen Raju released the Academic Diary for the batch 2016-18.

Corporate Guests and academicians inspired and encouraged students to learn and participate in all activities to know their strength.

Alumni Mr.Kanhaialal Sharma handed over the flag of camaraderie to the students of New Batch MBA 2016 – 18. The flag symbolizes mutual trust, commitment and above all team work.
